Congratulations Sahar for winning the NPAA Transformation Runner Up award. Sahar has transformed more than just her physique in the past eight months and we are delighted to have her share her story on our blog. This is her letter she wrote to NPAA while approaching her final week of competition prep.
Hi my name is Sahar Peiravani,
At first glance, you would see I’m an exceptionally devoted 36-year-old mother of two girls, I’m a loving wife and also a business owner. I am very involved in my children’s school activities and competitive sports. I’m no stranger to time commitments and sacrifice. That part of me hasn’t changed, but something else has. 8 months ago I made a commitment to myself — to my wellness and my happiness.
I’ve always struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. I must have tried every diet that you’ve heard of, and the only consistent result was a feeling of hopelessness. I even exhausted myself — working out like a machine — but still this was unsuccessful. It’s safe to say I was lost (on many levels,) until one day while hiking with a friend in the North Shore mountains for some exercise. I noticed a very happy, healthy and strong looking woman on the trail. I loved her body. I stopped to talk to her and was immediately given some hope for a new me. This lovely woman, Leslie Lewis Sword, was a competitive bikini athlete — a fitness model at the age of 39 and a member of Team Blessed Bodies. She willingly gave me the name of her coach, which I Googled as soon as I got home. I made contact the very next morning.
I started my program on September 15, 2012. When I weighed myself that morning I was 185 lbs. It was difficult looking at this number. I had been at this weight, my highest weight, for two years. I was so ashamed by my appearance that I slowly starting pulling myself out of all the social gatherings I normally attended. I didn’t want anyone to see me being that heavy and that unhappy. I Never wanted to be in any pictures and it was affecting my personal life as well as my professional life.

Looking back now, I realize that I was in an extremely dark space of my life when I met my wonderful coach, Fatima Leite Kusch.
Now, 8 months later I am well! I feel better and have so much positive energy to share with the people around me. I see the value of having my own health plan tailored by a professional who understands my body. This didn’t happen because of a magic pill, a gimmicky exercise, or a fad diet. It took hard work and sweat and tears, but I did it. This approach to permanent health and wellness has inspired me in my professional life too. Now I am aiming to become a personal trainer, to help others to reach their health and fitness goals.
Today I weigh 136.6 lbs and feel strong. I’ve never this small in my teenage or adult life! NPAA is going to be my first competition and it’s a dream come true. I feel so blessed.

We are still feeling the excitement from the NPAA B.C. Classic. We’d like to thank FP clients Brandi, Jennifer, Tricia, Kim, Ami, Sahar, and Kimberley for representing Team Blessed Bodies so well. Just look at those gorgeous smiling faces. We wish you could have been there to see their radiance on stage.

Cheat-Free Angel Food Cake
INGREDIENTS:
METHOD:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1) Using a mixer, beat the egg whites until they peak (should be firm and white). I add in a few teaspoons of stevia and 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar while they are beating - just like you do when you make meringue. I would also add in the vanilla here too (I added it in last yesterday, and I lost more volume to my cake batter then I liked)
2) Immediately after, place your remaining dry ingredients (protein powder, tartar powder and stevia) into a sifter and gradually sift them onto your egg-whites, FOLDING them in as you go. You can not mix this like you would a cake batter as you want your Angel Food Cake to be fluffy and airy. Sift a bit of the dry ingredients in, then fold the egg whites over and over until it seems mixed. Repeat until you have mixed all your dry ingredients together.
3) Lightly spray a bread pan (or an Angel Food Cake pan) with non-stick cooking spray. I used a bread-pan as I don’t have the other. Pour mixture into the pan.
4) Place in the pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes.
5) After 20-25 minutes, turn the oven off and let the cake sit in there for another 20 minutes.
6) Remove from oven. Let cool upside-down.

To all of you fabulously inspiring mothers out there…
Wishing you a happy Mother’s Day from the clients, support team, and Coach Fatima Leite Kusch at FitnessPrint.

FitnessPrint founder and coach, Fatima Leite Kusch, wins NPAA Coach Award!
We are TOO proud to see Fatima recognized for being a stand-out coach in the fitness scene. We weren’t surprised to hear that oodles of nominations were sent in to the Natural Physique & Athletics Association.
On May 5th at the NPAA B.C. Classic, Fatima was called on stage and presented the award by NPAA Elite Pro Fitness Model and FP support team member, Mindy Ambrose. This was an emotionally moving moment, as Mindy gave a speech about Fatima’s unique level of attention and support, and explained just how much Fatima cares about her clients. To top off the experience, all of our NPAA Team Blessed Bodies competitors and FP clients supporting from the audience, joined Fatima on stage for team photos.
What an incredible event — reinforcing the sisterhood that is Team Blessed Bodies, and why FP is not your average online program.
